Cuidados com a infancia e a adolescência por meio de brinquedoteca comunitária
Jurdi, Andrea Perosa Saigh;Amiralian, Maria Lucia Toledo Moraes;
Estudos de Psicologia (Campinas) , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-166X2012000500013
Abstract: the aim of this article is to report an intervention, based on the framework of winnicott's theory, in a community toy library that serves children and teenagers in situations of social vulnerability. the methodology followed was action research: the strategy was the supervision of interns and toy librarians, collection of documentary data and narrative reports by residents, bibliographic research and intervention in the playroom. as a result, it was found that the relationships that were established, based on trustworthiness, reliability and consistency of actions, provided children and teenagers with a human environment that allowed spontaneous and creative play, making them less vulnerable to the challenges encountered. the intervention based on the assumptions of winnicott's theory made it possible to expand the work beyond the individual relationships and strengthen collective practices, creating strategies of composition between the health and the social fields.

Jurdi, Andréa Perosa Saigh;Amiralian, Maria Lúcia Toledo de Moraes;
Estudos de Psicologia (Campinas) , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-166X2006000200009
Abstract: this paper considers that, besides the school inclusion law that regards handicapped students, these students have faced exclusion on their daily school relations yet. this study aimed to comprehend how influent was the activity proposed by occupational therapy in order to modify the established relations about these students in the school environment. through the occupational therapy trainees' report of an intervention experiment, that was conducted during the break time in an elementary public school in s?o paulo city, this study also intended to verify if the proposed activity (the joke) was able to provoke the special and non-special students meeting, impelling gathering possibilities among students ( special needy or not), providing the school inclusion process for the mental handicapped students. this intervention qualitative analysis has pointed out to the school environment difficulties in establishing daily relations to the mental handicapped students. the school relations reinforce the school failure to the mental handicapped students, and unable them to give their creative action a new meaning, that keeps the relation pattern and blocks up the real school inclusion process.
Educa??o diferenciada e trajetórias profissionais femininas
Perosa, Graziela;
Tempo Social , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-20702008000100003
Abstract: this research studied the social and professional experience of a group of 82 women born between 1940 and 1950, coming from high income groups from s?o paulo city, all ex-students of three catholic women's colleges. the main objective was to identify and compare the forms of socialization to which they were exposed in their socioprofessional training. research methodology included fieldwork, questionnaires and biographical interviews with former lecturers, school directors and past students. the study's findings enabled a better understanding of the mechanisms through which socialization processes determine the different dispositions characterizing the former students of a particular teaching system. they also helped show how the outcomes of this 'primary' socialization interact with later experiences, modifying, reconstituting or reproducing past social patterns and expectations.
A elabora??o do luto e as dificuldades de desligamento no pós-término de análise
Saigh, Yeda Alcide;
Psicologia USP , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-65642009000100007
Abstract: the author presents and discusses the difficulties of the ending of the psychoanalysis, as equivalent to a state of mourning that has specific characteristics, as established among other authors, melanie klein (1991): “the ending reactivates in the patient more archaic situations of separation and has the nature of an experience of weans” (p. 65). the mourning of the ending of psychoanalysis has to be studied, also, in the context of the analysts, considering the didactic analyses and in the specificity of this relation. candidates can count on the probability that they will have contact with their fellow analysts after the ending; but the typical “common patients” cannot count on any type of contact and, thus, it is probable that they suffer a much more intense mourning effect than in the case of the candidates. all these considerations contribute to demonstrate that mourning is an important subject, to be considered in psychoanalytical studies on the ending and the after-ending of analyses.
Superiority of laparoscopic guided needle biopsy over percutaneous blind needle biopsy in diagnosing hepatocellular carcinoma associated with cirrhosis
Al-Saigh Abdulaziz
Saudi Journal of Gastroenterology , 1998,
Abstract: This is a retrospective study of 40 patients clinically suspected of having hepatocellular carcinoma. Group 1 (20) patients underwent laparoscopic Tru-cut needle liver biopsy and Group II (20 patients) underwent percutaneous blind needle liver biopsy. In the first group, in 17 (85%) of the patients, the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma was confirmed by histopathology, direct observation of cirrhosis was seen in 8 (40%) patients, histopathology confirmation of cirrhosis was documented in 6 (35%) patients. In the second group, 14 (70%) of the patients were confirmed to have hepatocellular carcinoma histopathologically and no patients confirmed to have cirrhosis. Both procedures were safe. While ascitic leak from the infraumbilical incision was the only complication encountered in the 1st group, no complications were encountered in the 2nd group. The results support the premise that laparoscopy directed cutting needle biopsy is superior over other techniques in fulfilling all the diagnostic requirements for hepatocelullar carcinoma and associated liver cirrhosis which is important for surgical liver resection.

Jornal Brasileiro de Patologia e Medicina Laboratorial , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S1676-24442011000400006
Abstract: introduction: human metapneumovirus (hmpv) is responsible for respiratory infections in children and immunocompromised adults and elders. it is commonly diagnosed by immunofluorescence or molecular biology. objective: to detect hmpv in clinical samples by polymerase chain reaction (pcr) and direct imunofluorescence (dif) methods. results: two percent of 202 samples were positive for dif and 4% of them for reverse transcriptase pcr (rt-pcr), respectively. considering rt-pcr as gold standard, dif sensitivity and specificity were 50% and 100%, respectively. conclusion: not only does the study show that rt-pcr is the best method for hmpv detection in clinical respiratory samples but it also substantiates the importance of test standardization in laboratory routine.
GEOELECTRICAL DETECTION OF SUBSURFACE FAULTS AT THE WESTERN EMBANKMENT OF BADOOSH RESERVOIR, NORTH IRAQ
NABEEL HAMEED Al-SAIGH
Journal of Applied Sciences in Environmental Sanitation , 2010,
Abstract: The study of faults in general is essential in hydro-projects like dams and reservoirs. In reservoir studies one of the major geological considerations is to ensure that the basin should generally be water-tight with minimum water losses expected through reservoir and foundation rocks. Thirty-nine Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) points were taken along the northern limb of Allan anticline that represents the western embankment of the suggested Badoosh reservoir to check if there are any faults that might cause water seepage through this embankment. The readings were taken at 200m intervals with a total length of about 8.6km. Maximum electrode separation AB was ranging between 400-600m to locate any subsurface fault in the area and to detect the possibility of extending these faults to the water level in the reservoir.
A aprendizagem das diferen?as sociais: classe, gênero e corpo em uma escola para meninas
Perosa, Graziela Serroni;
Cadernos Pagu , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-83332006000100005
Abstract: this article discusses the relation between education and social stratification by means of a confessional private school for girls, targeting high-income families in the city of s?o paulo circa 1960. the investigation focuses on the school's modalities of participation in the production of body dispositions and specific social skills, in an attempt to demonstrate how schooling methods may be the basis for learning class and gender differences. methodological procedures included questionnaires, interviews with ex-students, principals and ex-teachers, and the analysis of photographs of the school's premises and routine. the results suggest that examining schooling modalities is particularly efficacious to the understanding of social differentiation processes in contemporary societies.
A passagem pelo sistema de ensino em três gera??es: classe e gênero na segmenta??o do sistema de ensino
Perosa, Graziela Serroni;
Educa??o & Sociedade , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-73302010000200006
Abstract: this paper analyses the different educational investments made by three generations of families included in a socially privileged group. it discusses how, from one generation to the other, passing through the education system was the basis of the social differentiation processes among individuals. the empirical material studied was obtained as part of a doctoral research, which identified the secondary school level and socio-professional trajectories of eighty-two women who had studied in three catholic schools. it focuses on the structural long-duration changes, such as the expanding access to education, the increased investment in girls' schooling paths and the survival of the sexual connotation of school courses. by systematically comparing the passage through the education system and the enrollment in higher education, it shows how the social order was transferred into the school environment and how it defines the possible horizons for each person.
Família e escola na socializa??o de meninas
Perosa, Graziela Serroni;
Caderno CRH , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-49792007000100003
Abstract: this paper discusses the forms through which the education participates in the processes of social differentiation and construction of identities. it was focused on the school experience and the social paths of a group of former students of three feminine confessional schools of s?o paulo, who left school around 1960. the methodological procedures included questionnaires, semi-structured in-depth interviews with former students, directors and former teachers, consults to school files and ethnographic observations. the social origin of the families and of the nuns were linked to the characteristics of the students' academic formation and their ways of professionalization. the results suggest that the uses of private schools by the families in brazil result in a homogeneous educational experience that potentializes the effects of the educational process on the modality of incorporation of class and gender stereotypes.
